Times New Roman: socialiniai tyrimai

Kas paskatina imtis „jauno britų meno”, ruošiant metinę Estijos dailininkų sąjungos parodą? Paprasčiausias malonumas pasigrožėti šiuo madingu prekiniu ženklu, besipuikuojančiu ant Dailės galerijos fasado. Mes visuomet svajojome nuspausti „Sex Pistols” gaiduką. Kai buvome paaugliai, pankai neabejotinai buvo mūsų įkvėpimo šaltinis. Kažkada noras nusipirkti pigią elektrinę gitarą ir suburti grupę atrodė visiškai natūralus. Vėliau, maždaug 1988-89 m., nusprendėme, kad jeigu galėjome tapti muzikantais nieko nenutuokdami apie muziką, nebūtų sudėtinga tapti ir kuratoriais, nieko neišmanant apie meną. Dabar juokaujame. Viskas gerai. Dieve, kaip džiaugiamės, kad šį kartą susirinko kita publika negu pereitą kartą, nes ir vėl ruošiamės daryti tą patį: „jauną britų meną”.

Mes ką tik įregistravome Estijoje „jauną britų meną” kaip prekinį ženklą, kad išvengtumėme nemalonumų su Valstybine kalbos inspekcija ir išreikštumėme savo pagarbą sačių tautai. Ir būtent šiuo momentu suknistų mechanizmų vietą užima šizopasaulis.

Why to do "young British art" for the annual exhibition of the Estonian Artists Union? Just out of the sheer pleasure of seeing the sign of this trendy trademark on the facade of Art Hall. We have always wanted to pull the trigger of Sex Pistols. Of course punk was very inspiring for us as teenagers. Once it seemed so natural to buy a cheap electric guitar and form a band. Later on, around 1988-9, we decided that since we had become musicians without knowing anything about music, we could become curators without knowing anything about art. Now we are joking. All right. God, we are glad it’s a different audience form the last time we were here because we're gonna do the same thing again - "young British art".

We just registered "young British art" as trademark in Estonia, to avoid complications with the State Language Patrol and to show our respect for the Saatchi people. And that’s the moment when asshole mechanisms are replaced by Schizo-World.
