Financial Aid

Candidates from Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union are eligible for up to 700 full Soros fellowships. A number of full and half academic merit tuition waivers, special scholarships and additional financial aid programs are also available.

Regional Faculty Initiatives

CEU offers a series of programs for faculty, researchers, and university administrators from the region which aim to encourage and promote academic co-operation and curriculum development in the social sciences and humanities.

Accreditation

CEU is chartered by the Board of Regents of the State of New York (US). Individual degrees are accredited by recognized US and UK accrediting bodies. CEU is a Candidate for Accreditation by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, 3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104 USA; (+1 215) 662-5606. Candidate for Accreditation is a status of affiliation with a regional accrediting commission which indicates that an institution has achieved recognition and is progressing toward, but is not assured of, accreditation. It has provided evidence of sound planning, seems to have the resources to implement the plans, and appears to have the potential for obtaining its goals within a reasonable period of time. Candidate for Accreditation status was granted to CEU in June 1999.
