REQUEST
FOR PROPOSALS Young Roma Culture Bearers Program The Open
Society Institute-Budapest is requesting proposals that aim to
support the next generation of
Roma culture bearers. The
Young Culture Bearers Program will be limited to Roma both as teachers and
learners. Applicants from
Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia,
Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Slovenia and Yugoslavia may apply. In many Roma
communities, Roma have lost touch with their cultural past.
This program will be looking for creative ways to inform and
empower the next generation of Roma with that knowledge so that they
become the teachers of the generations who follow them. Projects such as
oral history collection, historic mapping exercises, Romany language
courses, and other innovative programs would be of interest.
