MEDICAL SEMINARS – 2002
The
Soros Foundations and the American Austrian Foundation are pleased to
announce the Salzburg Medical Seminars Program for 2002 year. The American
Austrian Foundation determines the final selection of physicians invited
to participate in the seminars.
Cardiology/Anesthesiology:
April 1 – 7
Infectious Diseases: April 28 – May 4
Family Medicine: May 10 – 16
Neonatology/Pediatric Hematology/Oncology: May 17 -
23
Neurology/Psychiatry: June 9 – 15
Emergency Care in Pediatrics/Pediatric Gastroenterology: July 14 – 20
Palliative Care/ENT: August 25 - 31
Imaging/Women´s Health: October 27
– November 2
Oncology/Urology: December 15 – 21
TBA/ Bone and Joint Surgery (fall 2002)
Eligibility
requirements:
Applicants
to the program must:
- be a licensed physician in their own country,
- specialise in subject of seminar,
- preferably be under 40 years of age (medical students are not eligible),
- have strong communication skills in the English language,
- be recommended for the fellowship by the professional association in
their country,
- be committed to passing the knowledge they gain abroad to fellow
physicians
through lectures or workshops upon their return to their home
country.
Financial
terms:
Candidates
selected to participate will receive fellowships, which cover
international transportation to and from
Salzburg
,
and participation to the seminar. Accommodation and the living costs for
the duration of seminar will be entirely covered by the American Austrian
Foundation and The Soros Foundations.
Application:
All
interested doctors must complete the "Application Form Open Society
Institute/Soros Foundations Salzburg Medical Seminars Internationals
2002”. Application should be accompanied by one photo, recommendation, a
CV and a certified copy of their medical diploma and license translated
into English.
